A little Conan FanArt I made inspired by "Age of Conan"

Check out my DeviantArt site (http://fdiskart.deviantart.com) for a step by step and tutorial on this guy.

Hey man - love your art. Great job.

I looked for the step by step on your Deviant Art site - are you referring to the 4 cell progression from initial sketch to completion?

You have any tips in general for digital art? Particularly comic strips?

I recently switched from vector art to Photoshop + Wacom, and I I'm having trouble making anything nearly as clean as my old stuff (or your stuff)

Too low of resolution? Not using layers properly? Anything you can suggest would be helpful. Thanks man.

Keep up the great art.

Thanks for the tips Fdisk. Hopefully with more practice I can make them even cleaner yet.

Any recommendations you can give on coloring? I've been just creating a "Color" layer behind the ink and using fills for the most part, then using a brush to fill in that "ghosting" effect that comes from filling.

My email address is dan.weiland@gmail.com btw, in case you want to communicate outside of blog comments. :)

Hello Fernando,

Several days ago I posted the following ad on digitalwebbing.com:

FANTASY / COMEDY GRAPHIC NOVEL needs a penciller. This project is in the vein of a Terry Pratchett misadventure and requires a humorous, Manga-esque touch. Only 3 test pages needed and for the moment this work is on spec until the project is set-up.

While I've gotten a great response, I still haven't found what I'm looking for. So I've been doing a talent search on deviantart.com looking for the right person to take on this project. Your gallery impressed me, and I think you have the right style.

About myself: I'm a Los Angeles based screenwriter, professionally managed. My manager has ties to the comic book industry through his brother who wrote Silver Surfer a while back. I’m not looking to do a full graphic novel right now, but only a few test pages for a comic book agent who will then try to set up a deal with a publisher. I would make an agreement with you for your work so that you can be compensated if the project gets set-up.

If any of this sounds interesting and you'd like to work on spec, let's discuss the project further.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Ian
